People used to play female characters in EQ and UO just to get free stuff from idiots.
It'll never stop working in MMOs lol. I got a lot of good deals in Guild Wars from dudes who were attracted to my redhead character and polite writing style.
Back when I played FFXI, I'm convinced that one guy who kept showing up to Rolanberry Fields to help me farm some boots was convinced I was a girl just because of my in-game character model. It was honestly kind of awkward.
