NASCAR has been trying to capture a new fanbase for a long time now. The corporate types running the organization openly hate the people who grew up watching the sport. Pretty similar to what Marvel comics has been doing actually.
Of course, all this has done is alienate their actual audience without gaining a significant number of new people. The sport has greatly declined by every metric in the last 20 years.
Sad to hear. I’ve never been much of a fan but I’ve had many friends who were. When I was in the air force there was a Master Sergeant who was from Alabama and was a huge NASCAR fan he would always invite me to watch the big races at his house and there would be plenty of beer and bbq while him and his wife would give me the history lesson on each driver
Are there equivalent competitors to NASCAR? Seems like it would be fairly easy for Gragson and a few other good old boys to bring on investors and start a new racing group that does the exact same thing without the faggotry.
Gragson is a rookie. It's his first season at the highest level and he is sucking big booty. Even before the meme thing he was having a really bad year. A lot of people are speculating that Legacy Motor Club (the team he was driving for which is owned by Richard "The King" Petty) wanted to find any reason to fire him, hence the meme drama.
Finding a new team would be rough because his stock was so low even before the drama. Furthermore, sponsorship is everything in NASCAR and with every brand being one form of cucked or another I doubt he'd get any monetary support.
He'd have to go to a big name team like Penske, Hendrick Motorsports or Joe Gibbs racing. Those are the three biggest teams in NASCAR and the only ones that would be able to sponsor him themselves.
Hendrick Motorsports is where Kyle Larson went after he got let go by his team after saying the dreaded N word on a livestream a couple years ago. To this day, Kyle has trouble getting sponsorship even after winning the championship in 2021 and Rick Hendrick mostly has to sponsor the car out of pocket.
Kyle only got that chance because he is a once in a generation talent (and he's half asian so he's not full devil). I doubt anyone sticks their neck out for Gragson like that.
Everyone I know that watches NASCAR still has their Confederate Flag somewhere nearby while they watch it, and gets a lot of hoots out of knowing how much it would piss off everyone in the organization if they knew that fact.
NASCAR is actually in the middle of negotiating a new deal right now. The old one expires at the end of this year.
The NASCAR Xfinity series (equivalent to the minor leagues) just got announced that it is moving to the CW of all places. It previously aired on FOX and NBC. NASCAR is acting like this is a big win for PR, but I can't imagine anyone actually thinks the CW is a step up from FOX and NBC.

Well, it's kind of a complicated situation.

The CW is garbage, bottom tier television.
That was my understanding until everyone started acting like it was a good thing. Clown world strikes again I suppose.
I love oval racing. But fuck NASCAR.
