You are both right. He is right that you call everyone an enemy even for very trivial 'offenses', like packaged 'International Women's Day' tweets.
I do think that a game is woke if they go out of their way to make a woman a main character. By that standard, Lara Croft games are not woke, but Assassin's Creed ones that are 'bigender' are.
Find out your principles first, then stick to them. Otherwise you're a hypocrite. Lets say you are totally against women, then you'd be a hypocrite if you don't diss your own existence (your mother, if you don't get it). There's such a thing as scope. Be specific and more detailed.
No, be flexible, or you might end up dropping your boycott entirely. Like a diet, you can't be too easy-going, but if you are too hard, then one day of failure might lead you to drop it because you've messed it up anyway.
I try to boycott woke companies as much as possible, but I don't when it's hard. So I do boycott Gillette, but not Coca Cola.
Am I a hypocrite? Maybe. But so what if I am? This world is dominated by hypocrites, it certainly isn't harming them. Winning is more important than petty egotism.
I do boycott some of those as well and I do not use Mozilla, didn't even know they were woke it was running like crap for to long.
I had a guy in a call making fun of me for using Edge, I told him Edge has more users then Mozilla and Mozilla sucks.
The adults are still alive, and could make new kids, so it's not exactly ashes.
I do agree that some principles are more important than others. Hence why I used Scope in my initial post. When they're too broad, they're ineffective at most. That's different from breaking the principle you have though. I'll allow for "exception to the rule" though.
Change my mind: the RW has been losing because of its "principles".
Yes, because electing RINOs and welcoming in ideological refugees has worked so well for the RW.
The other side has none at all and yet it always wins.
Their principles are whatever the media tells them and they stick to them, no matter how irrational or illogical it is. If they didn't stick to those principles, they wouldn't have advanced their agenda and turned America into a shithole country.
A Pacifist will always win over a Warrior, in combat. But there are many avenues of war and ways of fighting, that doesn't include combat. Culture, Science, Arts, Education, etc.
They also don't have a way forward, only a way to destroy what is. Their tactics are all slash and burn. Sowing confusion, lies, and propaganda. That doesn't bode well for building a society of trust and truth. Theirs would be an actual Pyrrhic victory.

Don't post people's names and conversations in your post. This doesn't seem to be actually hostile, but I don't want to give any foundation to personal flame wars becoming thread topics.
There's not much for me. Like I guess I could say Bud Light, but I didn't drink it anyway. Or Netflix, except I canceled it a month before Cuties was a thing because I wasn't using it. So, really I tend to end up ahead of the boycotts because I typically bail for sub par products sooner.
I guess there's the NFL that I haven't watched when they went all in. And Sony, I took the opportunity to get way too much money for my PS4 shortly after the "cities can rebuild" thing because that pissed me off. Still, I've not missed much and like the closest product they've offered me to even make me try to change my mind is GoW: Ragnarok which in no way would be even close to buying a piece of hardware for.

The game he is talking about is Kingdom Come Deliverance, by the way.
Well then his comment was very, very dumb.
I find it hard to believe TheImp said something dumb.

I boycott Gillette, Disney, Netflix, Coca Cola but not Games Workshop. I guess we all have some level of hypocrisy
I boycott all of these, but not Microsoft.

Mozilla is one of the most woke tech companies. Worse than everyone but Google and maybe Salesforce.
To be fair Firefox is one of the few non-chromium based options and you can harden it if you want. Mozilla is trash tho
I boycott both google chromium browsers and Firefox Quantum browsers. Also, Safari.
Principles are more important than winning. Would you kill all children on Earth if it'd let you win?
That would be a Pyrrhic victory. But no.
And "don't give money to people who hate you" is a principle, but not as important as "don't kill all the children". Only the Sith deal in absolutes.
It would be a scorched earth tactic, but not a Pyrrhic one, as you wouldn't lose anything by it. In fact, you'd win..
"kill all the children" wasn't a principle, but a natural extension of you placing victory above principles.
You'd rule over ashes, which isn't exactly a victory.
And some principles are more important than others. To say that they are all equal is myopic.
The adults are still alive, and could make new kids, so it's not exactly ashes.

Imagine quoting Soy Wars to make a point.
I love this advice and wish more people would live by it it.
I think the RW would be further along if more people were like this.
