Sadly they do both. When you get so many of them, you will have some that will burden the social system and then you will have some that will work bellow normal wages lowering wages for all low-income citizens while making the wealthy wealthier. It is fucked up how leftists are somehow against the rich exploiting workers but are pro mass immigration.
They're not really against worker exploitation. They're constantly getting caught abusing their own subordinates when they're in that position. They just hate native workers, especially the white ones.
