wouldn't be surprised if America is heading less for a 'communist utopia' but [a] pre civil war state where loyalty to your state is higher than loyalty to your country.

I'd like the return of States. Since the War of Northern Aggression, all we have had are administrative districts.

States are territorially sovereign, provinces are not. That we still refer to Ohio or Connecticut as "states" is nothing more than fantasy and tradition.
