The reason the public draws a weak correlation between savants & autists is that an autist needs to be highly talented for people to be willing to put up with their bullshit.
Same thing with black guys in college. Since most black guys in college are only getting in because of basketball & football, a lot of white college kids just start to assume that all black dudes are tall & athletic. It's a perception bias based on only being exposed to a non-representative sample.
I have a friend of a friend who recently "came out" as autistic on instagram at 30. Ive met her and she is definitely not autistic. I'm assuming its a tik tok driver self diagnosis. Cringe galore.
Yeah, I know someone of a similar age who did similar…
She’s just annoying, though, more than anything (outspoken feminist turned housewife and mother - now turboposts about how “hard” motherhood is), so I think she sees it as a useful excuse, tbh…
But yeah, similar shit. Worked out alright for her in the end, though, I guess, lol…
Autists have an uncanny ability to hyper-focus on one thing, and become very good at it. The problem is they strictly stick to what is familiar, so it's difficult to steer them away from their current life path.
Just look at AGDQ, and how the majority of top-tier speed runners are autists. Now imagine that same level of autism applied to engineering or medicine, and you get the functional autists of the world.
That's like half the population of the internet. You don't need to be an aspy for that.
We are all autistic on this blessed day!
Tbf I'd rather learn how to backwards longjump my way through reality than figure out how the fuck I stasis launch myself across all of Hyrule lmao.
How to get halfway across Skyrim in one jump:
Turn on godmode and piss off a giant.

The difference is how much of your life force you need to sacrifice to attain such a skill.
That and the voice of Charles Martinet endlessly tormenting your psyche every time you go to sleep.
Yeah, that’s… Really not as unusual as he made it sound. At least, as described, lol…
Sure, it’s a bit sad, but it’s not necessarily “autistic” at all…
It also messes up the gifted kids because now a lot of people think giftedness equals autism.
I've never seen or heard of that.

Women. Women do that…
I really, really can’t see that working out for most men, on dating sites, lol…
Unless you are somehow “autistic Chad”, and even then it’s a stretch…

That’s why I specified on dating sites…
Twitter… Is arguably a different beast.

To be fair, this guy was getting dogpiled pretty hard by the cult. He's just too thick to indoctrinate.
