IMO those people don't care. Unless they run an actual business, they're just influencers who see that blue checkmark as clout, regardless of whether they deserve it or not.
Paying for a blue checkmark was only a good thing for people who had actually earned it, but were being denied for having the wrong opinions, although Elon could've done that himself if he were truly benevolent.
Everyone else who paid for it is just a filthy casual trying to make it as an influencer, which is a disease in today's culture.
