From what I’m reading, it’s Princess Peach: The Movie, co-starring some loser named Mario. Outside of that, the visuals are great, the story is threadbare, and there’s an over-reliance on pop music.
You'd be better off playing Superstar Saga - or revisiting Galaxy - what I feel a Mario movie should've been - Mario's warped away from the kingdom, Peach's in more danger than sitting in a cage for god knows how long, Bowser's more of a threat than he normally is, the stakes are higher, and there's a whole new world out there for Mario to explore
I went into it with real low expectations, I’ll be honest. I was afraid that it was really going to be “Princess Peach: The Movie,” but I wouldn’t say it was to that point. The girl boss thing was a bit over the top, but not as bad as I feared it would be. The plot was a bit lacking, but honestly it’s Mario. Mario good, Bowser bad. Mario beat Bowser. They tried to cram too much in it, and character development suffered as a result. Visually it looked real good, lots of action, I thought it was fun. My 6 year old found a couple of the sequences a bit scary. Jack Black did a good job playing an unhinged Bowser. Chris Pratt wasn’t a great choice for Mario, but he didn’t do poorly. Seth Rogan was, as expected, an absolute shit show. He was far and away the worst part of the film. B-
Additionally, I don’t recall Peach ever condescending to Mario. I suspect that if Nintendo hadn’t had such a heavy hand on creative control it the girl power thing would’ve been much much worse.
Jack Black seems like he is the only actor who actually enjoyed being in the film. Everyone else either didn’t give a shit (Seth Rogan) or tried to make their role seem more important and meaningful (the voice actress for Peach) than just being a voice actor to a Mario movie.
I haven’t seen it yet, but it’s all a little confusing.
On the one hand, all the planets are aligned for it to be a woke, Seth Rogan/stronk whamen shit show. Another franchise from my childhood buried in a shallow grave.
On the other hand, I’ve seen the critics appear to hate it, and usually when critics hate something it’s because it’s actually really great and woke-free.
I don't have any information about the movie, but these people also hate video games and hate Chris Pratt. They also hate things that are only half woke.
Saw it. It was a ton of fun. Peach wasn't a bitch, Donkey Kong was not bad, I couldn't tell Chris Pratt was voicing Mario, and Jack Black killed it as Bowser. The animation was beautiful, there was a ton of references from the original Donkey Kong arcade all the way up to Super Mario Odyssey, and the movie was fun. Go see it.
Don’t forget Seth Rogen syndrome, the movies a retarded spawn of boss wahman and insufferable soyboys.
Everything Rogen touches turns to shit.
I wonder why that is.
What I'm wondering is did Donkey Kong do The Laugh

They tried. Nintendo told them to fix the shit.
Sweet. Thank you for your review. I will see it then.

“Anya Taylor-Joy is an actress”
Lol, Wikipedia doesn’t even say she is Argentinian (or from anywhere at all), anymore… Wonder who got that scrubbed! 😂
But yeah, she’s… I’m gonna say hot trash. Like Ana de Armas (Latina, pretending not to be) but much more unpleasant…

So I’m just waiting until we get more info on it
