Land acknowledgements are where powerful, untouchable people declare that white peasants have no right to live on the land on which they were born, in the nations that their ancestors built. Instead, it's a crime, carrying with it all the unspoken implications of that crime. Simply put, they want to delegitimize white people's existence.
