The AR-15 wasn’t supposed to be a bestseller. The rugged, powerful weapon was originally designed as a soldiers’ rifle in the late 1950s. “An outstanding weapon with phenomenal lethality,” an internal Pentagon report raved. It soon became standard issue for U.S. troops in the Vietnam War, where the weapon earned a new name: the M16.

First paragraph is a massive lie, go figure…

And note they leave out the part where it was rejected and instead the m-16 was adopted

Actually functionally it works significantly better at ergonomics and recoil mitigation. That's why it was advertised as "The Sportsman's Best Friend"

Let’s compare the amount of ar-15 killings per year to pistols… funny how they scream “assault weapons” when the guns most frequently used in shootings are .22 and 9mm with ar 15s being a major minority of all gun violence.

Handgun crime is mostly black on black. They're not interested in stopping their gang banging constituents from killing each other. The typical AR-15 owner is a white male in the suburbs or rural areas. They're going after cultural enemies.

The bigger "scarier" gun was always going to be their first target. They want it to play out exactly like Canada. Ban so-called "military rifles", then ban more long guns, then go for the handguns.

Speaking of their list, "seventeen deadliest mass killings in the U.S. since 2012." Which is more arbitrary? A top 17 list (I assume this is how many they needed to get 10 involving an AR-15 without going to 20 and reducing the %). Or starting in 2012?

Conveniently leaves out both Columbine and Virginia Tech, among others.

It's always about the gun. Where the fuck have you been? They want to ban guns.

Every shooting is used to push gun bans.

Every. Single. One.

The last few shootings with a young male shooter were all used by women to push dehumanization.

You're being incredibly selective, as always.

Even if you search 'school shooters men,' a huge chunk of those stories blame whites. If you search 'school shooters white,' you get some about men, but not as many as you get about whites in the first search.

This is especially striking when whites are underrepresented in shootings, and men are vastly overrepresented.

Also, as I've often said in these discussions, two things can be true at the same time...they do always blame the gun.
