It's because they can. I've seen so many of these videos, and almost all of them end the same way; no consequences, no fight back.
I don't care your race or sex, if you start physically attacking someone they're justified in physically stopping that attack. But they usually just sit there and take it if the attacker is black or female, to avoid being called racist or sexist.
It's not usually just fear of being called racist, you can usually hear half a dozen more of them cheering it on behind the camera. The rare ones I see start fighting back usually get jumped 6 on 1 if they look like they might win. By the time the camera's out and filming the game's already been rigged.
