They don't think that way. Anything that isn't fully on board with the cause is an enemy who must be destroyed.

Yeah that's true. We'll see if their LGBT-ness will shield them long term.

There's also that whole "not wanting one's own species to go extinct" thing, that you apparently still can't wrap your head around.
