Guaranteed stock, I don't usually buy digital copies, so it's important to me.

Ok I don't see the point of physical unless it's a collector's edition, but yes that's the one legitimate reason to preorder.
Assuming no (((server authentication))) is required to boot up your own game, this is the correct strategy.
Server authentication is always required.
