I think I am more representative of the Catholic faith and I'm an Empirical atheist!
Which is why I'd like to put in my hat to be Pope for the Catholic faith! I dislike LGBTwhatevercomesnext and believe that my followers should not only proclaim the virtues of our faith and convert those who don't believe peacefully but also defend it...with force and purge the pedos!
Only deal breaker is I have to be allowed to marry as I think I can easily stay true to my faith if I got a nun that I can make into a real life Sister of Battle as a wife!
Yeah I feel like having monks is one thing. Having all your clergy be celibate is kinda nuts. And FWIW the monks that are supposed to be celibate often aren't.
Back when monks trained with weapons they trained with weapons of the current battlefield. I think monks would have to train with ARs and night vision goggles to keep up.
But they'd lose style points. The exorcist priests can have ARs. The monks can have silenced pistols or something...but they have to dual wield. And, sure, they can have night vision.
Yep, I just also demand all wives be complete religious zealots with access to heavy firepower, the men get the walking tanks only as is their right!
But seriously, I think that is one point that needs changing as there was probably a lot less pedophilia in the church when the bishops got hookers on tap and everyone turned a blind eye.
2000 fucking years and all it took was one child fucker from South America to destroy the Mother Church. Not even the muzzies could do it. It took even less time for the Irish Catholics to fall.
If there is one thing I despise more than a religious extremist, it is a religious traitor.
Claiming to uphold the beliefs of your religion and then shitting all over them is absolutely deplorable from a moral standpoint. I might not like Islamic terrorists, but at least they actually believe and attempt to follow their religion.
His actual statement was still really dumb liberal double-speak, unless the translation is wrong. I often disagree with him but I thought he was smarter.
"It’s not a crime. Yes, but it’s a sin,” he said. “Fine, but first let’s distinguish between a sin and a crime.”
What does "it's not a crime" mean? He already acknowledged several anti-gay laws they want to fight against. Obviously it is a crime in some jurisdictions. So by "It's not a crime" he probably means "It shouldn't be a crime". Ok, why? He doesn't do much to convince anyone. He just claims it. Where in the Bible does it say homosexuality can't be a crime? Why can't bishops support anti-lgbt causes? Why doesn't this apply to murder or any other laws? Someone was talking about revenge porn laws being unjust in another thread. Does the Catholic Church have an opinion on revenge porn laws?
Or is it that when a pope says "crime" they are talking about some specific term in Catholicism?
“It’s also a sin to lack charity with one another,” he added.
Pilpul. Or the kind of rationalization people tell themselves to feel better before doing something wrong. Who is he speaking to and what is his goal here?
Finally "lacking charity" is a passive action, buggery is a direct action. You absolutely could make either one a crime. You need to tell me why that is or isn't acceptable, Pope.

Speaking of combat clergy, monks should be martial arts masters. Obviously. Battle nuns and kung fu monks. Solves a lot of problems.
Oh, and make exorcism great again. So the priests aren't bored.

Celestine be praised!
No shit, you’ve been harboring them for decades and shuffling them around while they’ve had all the Altar Boys they could fuck.

What the fuck happened?
Evil is never more than one generation away from power. Eternal vigilance is all that shields us from the worst humanity has to offer.

Do Catholics even read the Bible?
As a practicing Catholic... no, we don't. Most of my knowledge of the Bible comes from the stories I was told as a child.
