By removing Rowling's name from HP books and trying to sell them, are they not attempting to sell a new product that violates copyrights?
I would guess so, but others can jump in.
I imagine she would still collect royalties. They still need to purchase the books form the publishers, so she's still getting her money. It's nothing more than an empty flex. It doesn't really do shit.
No because they aren't making new copies. Rebinding is fine especially after some "unrelated" damage.
