It's not even the first time it's happened - The Last of Us put a 555 number on a bit of terrain not realising that only some 555 numbers are reserved and the one they picked happened to be a phone sex line.
Considering TLoU2's very kosher storyline, I'm sure that phone number was not a cohencidence.
The Who Framed Roger Rabbit NES game has a part where you have to call a phone number to get a hint for the next part of the game. Or rather it did, because it is now - you guessed it - a sex hotline.
These companies buy numbers by the tens of thousands banking on this kind of thing. They all route to the same place, but the more numbers they buy, the greater the chance of a scandal, and scandals draw business. You can bet that the TOOMUCH number has seen more traffic in the past week than the rest of its existence combined.
