Anime has increasingly lost the plot. Instead of strong men overcoming adversity and women that are supportive and loyal shown (some of the time at least), you get simp harems and women-can-do-anything garbage.
The form does eventually lead you to the world of hentai, but that's a less blatant path than the movie/tv -> porn pipeline. There isn't copious amounts of sex and sex talk in anime like modern screen drivel. Never mind the LGB-diversiT insertions.
Outside of One Piece, I have given up on pretty much all anime. Watch a lot of Donghua now. Semi predictable, but men are still Men, and women are at the least eye candy instead of stronk flat caricatures.

The damage that that Keynsianism has done to Japan culturally has caused a demographic disaster worse than the American firebombing campaign did. I'm not kidding, that's not hyperbolic. China's birth rates now are as bad as they were during Mao's Famine.
With a near pathological weakness in young men, women (inevitably) have to step forwards and embrace more masculine rolls. Rolls which make them not only more masculine in attitude, but also more resentful towards men, more bitter with life, and more irritable and lonely.
The west has embraced some fucking crazy-bananas level shit with the whole trans degeneration, but even without our level of crazy, Japan's emasculinization problems are still quite severe. In fact, the US birthrate is still significantly better. We're not looking an innevitable demographic disaster. Japan is, to the point where it may actually lose it's status as a 1st world country. (It could become a 2nd world, struggling economy).
Agreed. The second I heard the article say that the "anime" this girl was watching included pedo and incest stuff, I was about 99% sure it was hentai. Almost no mainstream anime has those sort of themes (save for cousins due to weirdness in Japanese law/customs), and the anime that does you generally have to actively seek out because it is hyper-niche. Hentai though? That shit is rampant.
I dont normally care about porn like some has started to, but I can see what they are getting at with how warped some hentai can be.
