Where the complaints were coming from depends on one thing, were they good or were they shit?
If they were shit, Mexicans would've complained just because they didn't want to be linked to them
If they were good, uppity leftists complained
Mexi fries were delicious, plus it’s Washington so it was definitely leftists. Every Mexican I know was proud to be compared to a Mexi-fry.
How I imagine the thinking goes:
Mexi-Fries aren't Mexican. Dats racis
But of course French fries, "Chinese" food, and Cracker Jacks are totally fine.

There's no Taco Time in my country so I don't know much about any of this, but those mexifries don't look Mexican at all to me.

I don't even get the objection. Mexico is a nation, not just a nationality. What's next, renaming French food? Chinese?
