There are lukewarm Muslisms.
I've seen it myself when I was in college. Arab guys and girls got all into shit hop culture, drugs/alcohol, and premarital sex, but then on Ramadan they LARPed as if they were pious.
The punishment for being a shitty adherent is a beating at worst. The punishment for apostasy is death at the norm. They're atheistic muslims, but they're covering their asses by going all-in on a holy day or two.
Islam is a works based religion, going to Jannah(Heaven in the Quran) is determined by faith+good deeds, most of which are religious based works such as going to church or reading the Quran. If you lead a carnal life of sin, then your sins will outweigh the occasional moments where you act good.
The main point I was making was that these are the newer generations of muslims who are tempted and lead astray by the western world, so this weird meme people push that muslims are an island immune from globohomo subversion only goes as far as the older generations who grew up without these values.
