Out of the two, preferred Argentina to win than a European country.
To be honest, though I didn't watch it, I do love the result of the Qatar world Cup which is the virtue signallers got told to shut it by the Islamic country and Fifa, diversity lost in the end and everyone saw how cute the Japanese fans where cleaning up.
Theyβre definitely much whiter (as are their fans, broadly), yesβ¦
I'm still Brazil is still absolutely fucking seething over their loss to Croatia. The fact that a different South American country won is probably even more infuriating.
It's like Uruguay winning the World Cup.
My Brazilian friends were the ones who told me Argentina was going to win it this year first. We actually watched the Brazil v Croatia game and then the Argentina v Netherlands game together. They were angry, one ended up needing to go outside for the rest of the day, and then happy Argentina beat Croatia.
I bet they were happy that Argentina beat Croatia.
I would have laughed my ass off if Croatia had won the whole thing.
Based on how weird it had gotten, I wouldn't have been surprised.
Uruguay won the first FIFA world cup.
"It's coming home!"
Which they have. At least once.
They have been shit for much longer than either of the other two, but they were a fucken powerhouse, mid last centuryβ¦
Itβs the most developed and richest of the three. Hence massively over-performing, relative to its size. And they love the idea of being able to beat their neighbours at this sport that is like a secular religion to them.
Exactly like Croatia. Or Belgium.
Not as extraordinary as people think. Uruguay has won it multiple times.
African teams: "the fuck is this 'diversity'? This is why we sold your ancestors to the whites for guns and booze!"
"We sold you all of our prisoners, defeated enemies, and losers. It's your fault for taking them, lol"
The Europeans during the 19th century: "we've ALTERED the deal..."
