It's not that surprising. The average redditor is a lonely, unhappy man. And of course, the sales pitch:

One of the biggest things I've noticed in transitioning from dude to chick is how much women really care about each other. In the last few months I've really started making a lot of new trans women friends and it still staggers me how open and accepting they are at a purely platonic level. Guys grow up with society telling them they aren't allowed to feel open to their male friends without looking weak. You can't talk about your insecurities, you can't talk about your trauma, you can't appear to be anything but a stoic rock. It's a stigma that needs to be destroyed.
