I hope he is Jewish. At least then this defense would be understandable. But if he's not and is just leaping to their defense anyway, that would be truly pathetic.
There's no "pattern of malicious behavior". Unless we're going to pin the blame for Stalin and Hitler on you, and I'm sure that's one pattern of malicious behavior you don't want associated with your race.
