I only put things in the recycle bin because of limited trash bin space, recycling = more bin space. I'm under no illusion that it's gonna save the fucking planet like some retards. And yeah I had people flip out for putting beer bottles in the trash before. Madness.
Well, around here recycling kinda works for the most part. We have public containers for glass all over cities. Every household has trash cans for paper, plastic and organic waste. Every supermarket has machines to return soda bottles. Up until a couple of years ago I used to separate all that stuff.
However it was never enough for the eco nutjobs. They always demand more restrictions, more fees, more money out of my pocket. So I stopped giving a shit and now do what's most convenient to me.
Shit, soon I might add public littering to that list because they're about to pass yet another law where they charge yet another fee for plastic packaging "because people in big cities litter". It's just another excuse to extract money from us. Might as well make them spend it by joining the littering party.
It is the philosophy of "if you treat me as if I had committed a crime, then I shall commit that crime, as the societal difference to me is zero".
Sounds terrible, we just have two cans one for trash and one for all recycling products. I was stationed in South Korea and they charge approx 5 cents a bag at their markets and I'm okay with that not for recycling but economic sense. I live in Georgia now and when I first moved into my house, waste management company wanted to charge me $6 dollars a month for the recycling bin and I was like "6 dollars off my bill right? Because I'm doing your job for you." and then I told them to fuck off. Was years later before they made it free because apparently people here rather have six tallboys than to "save the planet"
