I don't know why so many boomer-era nerds look like that, but they all do. Alan Moore is every stereotype of a nerdy old man. If you concentrate hard enough, you can actually smell the cigarette smoke coming through your screen.
I used to know a guy like that but at least he wore his hair in a ponytail so he wouldn't look like Hungry Santa.
Funnily enough, I was actually going to make a ponytail comment, but the smoking thing was more ubiquitous I think.
