Witnesses from the downtown Ottawa BIA testified that businesses closed during the convoy because they didn't want the government to fine them for not enforcing the mask mandate. They were afraid of bylaw officers, not protesters.
Diesel fumes? This was in the middle of winter. Who has windows open in the middle of winter?
Also if you're in the downtown capital of a G7 country aren't there normally vehicle fumes running all the time? With local traffic non-existent and only some idling happening (to keep people warm) there would be less exhaust fumes than normal.
Seems like her complaint should be with her building for having poor ventilation systems, or with herself for not moving to the suburbs or a rural area.
Yeah, really. Somehow the exhaust from gas powered vehicles never once got into the building, but diesel fuel exhaust somehow permeated the building?

Also as mentioned in OP, businesses were worried about being fined by bylaw- not the protestors. Businesses that stayed open had lines outside.

The Freedom Convoy happened during a time when the Canadian government and multiple other countries around the world were talking about reinforcing covid measures, even after two years of them not working. It was widely supported by the populace, people were lining up on the highways with Canadian flags and chanting for freedom as they passed, and they inspired multiple similar movements across the world. Trudeau was so spooked that he ran away from the capital to hide in one of his private mansions, claiming he caught covid. And as the Freedom Convoy rolled into Ottawa, like a miracle, the entire conversation had shifted, and all Western governments were now talking about removing all restrictions, talking about how the "pandemic was over".
The Freedom Convoy changed the world for the better. Never be gaslit into thinking otherwise.
