Ironic by the Alanis definition maybe.

We expect black people to shoot each other so this is just something that happens. If it happened in a mostly white country then it would be a coincidence. If he went to a mostly white country with the intended purpose of getting away from violent blacks and got shot by a white guy that would be ironic.
