The authorities in Germany are being overly cautious/fearful and trying to shame society into even more conservation than is already happening "just in case". We JUST saw this behavior with COVID and Germans have a hard on for excessive conservation.
So they're outright lying about those percentages?

Yes they are outright lying, though they used "could" instead of "will" meaning that they're admitting that they're full of shit. Just like how they lied constantly during COVID to try to force the populace to behave the way they wanted.
And what do you think these percentages represent? Facts? Hahahah no. These percentages are arbitrary opinions. Whose opinion? Whoever decided on the propaganda push to try to shame Germans into greater conservation.
My link has already made it crystal clear that there will be no shortages even if conservation stops.
What happened was that the weather was UNUSUALLY cold last week, and so the German government saw a spike in gas usage and freaked the fuck out without adjusting for the disparity in the weather.
Hmm, thanks for the reply. If that ends up being true there's an analyst I mostly trust who I won't any more.
