Sure is weird then how evolution made them developed enough to have babies, and that they did in fact do exactly that at that age for the entirety of human history. It's almost like this idiotic delusion is wrong and just used by various sides of politics to try to out-puritan each other.
I remember when it used to be very common for folks to get married in their teens back in the day. Nowadays people will consider 22 a child. lol Seriously I've seen posts complaining about how a 22-year-old isn't mature enough now.
Because yes, practically speaking, it's very hard to have a job lucrative enough to provide for a family at 16 years of age in the modern world. But with a family to support you in the early years, it becomes far more realistic.
High school itself is a skewed priority. College even moreso, not to mention public education as a whole. The age of majority being functionally split three different ways is a skewed priority.
Nor is biological maturity, which is fairly set, comparable at all to the vileness of Islam marrying off ten year olds.
Makes me nostalgic for the days when a boy dropped out to work on the farm and his girlfriend followed suit and married him once he got established with his own land or with his becoming full partner on the family homestead.
Give me the days when school was the three Rs with maybe some bible or 19th-century literature thrown in for a taste of "morals" and "culture."
With the industrial revolution and the migration to the cities, Harvard creeps like Conant and Dewey began fucking with public education, making it a program of social engineering--a curse that has remained with us ever since, and it's getting worse.
A bit young but if they are married and have family to support them why not?

Funny, they managed it for 99.9% of human history.
