Granted I’m just one man but I tried to push back against that mentality. Definitely a losing battle though. I used to force them to tell me what specific racism they are experiencing and it’s always vague stuff like systemic something or the other. I gave up. I can only worry about myself or talk to those who will listen
There's one incident that stuck with me. A guy the age of my father claimed to have experienced 'racism' in this country. And when I asked for specifics, it basically boiled down to: they didn't treat my kid in school as well even though he is smart. "They think we are supposed to be their servants", he said.
People have been taught to equate any treatment that they do not like to 'racism'. Maybe the teachers simply didn't like you or your kid for reasons unrelated to race. It happens to white people enough. How come that when you are colored, that it's automatically racism?
But of course, guy was so convinced of the 'racism' that I didn't even bother pointing out that his evidence was flimsy as hell.
Exactly. Just like the whole disparity thing. That white man who saved his money and didn’t get multiple women pregnant has a better house than me. Disparity!
I never accused a teacher of being racist but in 3rd grade I did think my teacher hated me because she was always down my back. Had a parent teacher conference and it was actually just because she was worried about me being antisocial and not wanting to do anything beyond required work. She explained all that and also started letting me read and borrow books from her bookshelf during class. When she retired she gave me all her books too.
If I were this tard I'd have missed out on developing my favorite hobby and kept being a slacker little shit who thought any criticism was hateful.
Trying to reason with people when they're doing copes pretty much never works. You can't reason a man out of something he wasn't reasoned into in the 1st place, and copes are driven by a need for emotional security.
It’s the path of least resistance. People are basically reacting appropriately to (admittedly perverse) incentives. Victimhood is the highest moral and social position in our present society, with the progressive stack functioning as a formal codification of these values. The only way to stop this corrosive dynamic is to cease rewarding victims.
Those rewards are coming from left wing governments and media. So yeah.
So you get fewer empowered people and more people who just play the victim all day.
Sure, there will be people who go against the tide, but like going against the tide, it's effortful and they will be less well off than in a healthy society where good things are encouraged and bad things discouraged.
Communists learned that playing the victim is a powerful tool to undermine free societies, especially where women have the right to vote:
A false victim narrative creates grievances to motivate the out-group to attack the establishment
Some percentage of the majority (women) are dumb enough to buy into the false victim narrative and to signal virtue by betraying the establishment - which they are a part of - in order to selfishly feel good about themselves
Of course you can, actually reasoning is the only way out.
But it has to be reason starting from their warped perspective. Systemic racism is a gospel to them so accepting that, the reasoning way out is to say in effect what are you going to do about it? Let them win, or persevere?
Basically you have to be a total dick and rub their nose in their individual failures; why did you buy the expensive TV instead of fixing your car, if you had fixed your car you wouldn't have been fire for missing work, and so on. They have to be slapped in the face with where they'd be if they made each better decision. They'll still feel discriminated against, but it won't be the entire reason and eventually if they make better decisions and succeed they'll have less resentment.
Problem is liberals will never do this as (like everybody else) they know a sizeable number of blacks genetically can't make good decisions (MAO-A) and they won't blame people for what's out of their control. So liberals never do this reality-slap and hold them accountable for anything.

And it boggles my mind how being oppressed or a victim is so trendy with young people today

Goes back to what Milton Friedman said about getting more of what you reward
You get more of what you encourage.
So you get fewer empowered people and more people who just play the victim all day.

Sad but true
