Neil Gaiman says The Sandman Season 2 won't happen because the show was watched too slowly. (archive.ph)

So “people watched the show too slowly” according to Neil because Netflix reported that there were not enough viewed hours of the show in a 28 day period to justify a second season. Doesn’t that just mean not enough people watched it and those that did didn’t like it enough to keep watching? What a pathetic cope. I used to read Neil Gaiman stuff and I had no idea from his writing that he was such an insufferable goddamn faggot.

American Gods gave me a few clues. Remains one of the few books I'm sorry I forced my way through based on reputation. Neverwhere and Good Omens are still great although the latter feels much more like a Pratchett book.

This is spot on. I read Neverwhere first and thought it was awesome. Every other Gaiman book was trash.

Love stardust and Neverwhere, but American Gods was not good and while I like Gaiman and I like Pratchett I thought Good Omens was awful.

Coraline, The Graveyard Book, and Anansi Boys are still favorites. He seemed to be a sane man even after his first divorce, but I think his second marriage made him act like a Rockstar, and that's what got him into trouble.

I know a few comic artists, and they all remember him from back in the day as this kind man who they loved talking to. Now they can't even say hello without a publicist getting in the way.

I guess he is assuming more will end up hearing about it and love it later and will reach the numbers he was hoping? Yeah either way mega-cope

Yeah, I read all of Sandman (and Lucifer) and I enjoyed them.

Tried the first episode of the show and I got so bored that I turned it off.

Nothing stood out to grab my attention (in the first episode, mind you) except the queer boosting, which I'm already tired of.

Visually blah, dialog was slow, and they spent way too much time on bland characters that turn out to be completely irrelevant later (which was honestly a bit of a problem with the original as well).

Would have been better animated. I'm honestly sick of live action anything and it feels like studios only do it so they have an excuse to use "perfectly good actors of colour" instead of just drawing characters how they're supposed to look.

They blackwash even in animation. Look at invincible

I also only made it through one episode. I never read the original so the woke stuff didn’t really bother me, it was just boring. Exact same story with the Lucifer show too, actually.
