I already use the GreaseMonkey script, but others might not (the addon you're talking about only exists as a google extension sadly). I agree that archiving is better in general, but with Way Back Machine removing archives and Archive.ph being so slow, Nitter is the better temporary thing, instead of a twitter link (which many will just click on regardless).

It's weird that you've had to set up a userscript for that, as FF uses google's web extensions too, with rather easy porting. I use Pale Moon myself.
Yeah, frontends is the absolutele minimum I'd say.
