"pedo hunters" are dumb losers who make it harder to actually prosecute real criminals. their little operations are not usable by law enforcement and prosecutors, so all they end up doing is teaching the pedos how to avoid getting caught in the future. you're not cops. leave the policing to the professionals.
the only reason they do it is because they're assholes who want to harass people, and the only people they can get away with harassing is pedos.
I laughed, though, when they're like "get the knife off him" and the response was to just punch the guy in the back of the head and then the guy starts to defensively stab at them when they keep reaching for it, like wtf did you think was going to happen?
You mean the professionals at Waco, Ruby Ridge, Broward, Uvalde? Or more like recently in Denver?
Far too few are truly ready to accept that the establishment are not their to protect them. It is about control and order. And frankly, so long as pedos don't threaten that, they're far down the list in terms of priorities.

At least they're doing something. LEO is useless and may in fact be running cover for the pedos in most cases.
The way things are going we're going to start to see more vigilante justice and distraught people just following the "three Ss".

The problem isn't the pedo hunters. The problem is law enforcement not being able to use this evidence. The law is wrong, not the pedo hunters.
I'll agree to disagree with you on the "does nothing" angle. Pedos do what they do believing no one is going to catch them. The fact that they're being caught means the next time they want to do it they're going to think twice. Ultimately, it may mean they can re-examine their lives and move on whereas convicted pedos have a high rate of recidivism likely because their lives are ruined.
Anything in addition to the potential for a law enforcement sting that demonstrates to potential pedos that people are watching is good.
When people turn to taking the law into their own hands, that's a sign that the current justice system is unfit for purpose.
