It also allows newspapers to print stories saying "REPUBLICANS GUILTY OF SCHEME TO STEAL DIARY" which is both technically true and outrageously false at the same time. The perfect propaganda.

This is 100% to try to roll the "thieves" in an attempt to come after Veritas, because Veritas is actually a significant force on the Right wing.
