She's got a point. I think it's a terrible idea for non-blacks to date blacks, though not for the same reasons she states. You could indeed meet a black person who you connect with on every level, she could very well be the coolest person you know, and someone you would love to spend your life with. Her family and the people she grew up with, however, most assuredly will NOT be. There's always going to be more than one person there with a bone to pick with you purely on the basis of your skin color. It's endemic to black culture. And I can guarantee you, those people are going to do everything they can to sabotage you or be a thorn in your side, and there's not much you're going to be able to do that won't involve trashing your relationship with her. Add to the fact that there's a greater level of criminality in the black population that is fucking celebrated, then you've a greater chance of putting yourself within striking distance of dangerous criminals. Stay platonic.
