The proposed law would bar nearly all abortions, with narrow exceptions, including for pregnant people who face life-threatening complications, and for victims of rape or incest, so long as they report their assault.

So “narrow exceptions” is just making elective abortion illegal

They love to use life of the mother and rape as talking points to defend ritual child sacrifice, but they also know those situations are statistically irrelevant.

Guaranteed that with a rape exception, they'll continue talking about them, with the excuse that "not all pregnant people report their rapes" or "doctors shouldn't have to fear prosecution if they incorrectly make the determination that a woman's life was at risk".

“Incorrectly” or intentionally

They seem to be very risk-averse, not doing abortions even when it's allowed. In part this is to milk it for political ends, but no doubt they're seriously scared as well. They only do the virtue-signal when it's without cost.

I just use Crowders method. Ask, "would you support a ban with only exceptions for rape and the mothers life? No? Then shut up"

"Abortion is not birth control" is perfect IMO. Good law.

Also, again with "Pregnant people". If only we had a word to describe those.

We now have Cultural Revolutions every few weeks. And the skinsuits the wokies are wearing institute them almost immediately.

who face life-threatening complications, and for victims of rape or incest, so long as they report their assault.

Oh no, some rapists may go to jail.

How exactly are these 'narrow' exceptions? Seem like the standard exceptions that everyone support. It's a good sign that even a state as red as WV cannot pass a total abortion ban without any exceptions. Seems like Republicans are wisening up.

How exactly are these 'narrow' exceptions?

They only account for 1% of abortions, leaving 99% of "I'm using this instead of condoms or pills or any other birth control" abortions illegal.

You know, the thing they don't want said out loud.

Oh, I know that full well, but as far as "exceptions" go - these are pretty standard, not 'narrow'. In fact, it covers all the exceptions for abortion, so you could actually say that it's fairly wide in terms of exceptions.

Preaching to the choir here.

But it's the fat blue haired ninnies that are dictating the debate's terms.

Ah nice, an old-fashioned prediction.

Did you miss the last 8 years of high-profile rape accusations that turned out to be hoaxes?

Not at all, but that in no way implies a specific increase in false accusations now.

It's a thing with this guy. He makes all sorts of predictions, which all turn out to be false. For example, some Balkan country got a female PM, and he predicted that the male suicides would increase in 6 months.

It's one thing if he had said, intelligently, that this may encourage false reports. Or even use 'probably'. Especially when you're wrong this often. But no, "often wrong but never in doubt" was never truer than here.

It's not a prediction when it's guaranteed.

Let's see if you continue your stellar track record when it comes to predictions.

These laws assume they'd feel bad about ruining an innocent person's life. They don't.

Who is the 'they' here?

Typical lack of empathy

I don't empathize with baby killers or the people who give them sexual pleasure.

Has it crossed your mind that some people are naive

Natural Selection at work.

our culture and education system portrays women as perfect people with absolutely no malice in them?

I've never seen this in my entire life. What strange school did you go to ?

Typical lack of empathy I'd expect from women's sympathizers.

I think you meant... COLLABORATORS!

You sure love your circles.

So anyone who ever had an abortion, or would want one, has no compunctions about making a false rape accusation?

One wonders where you get this great wisdom about tens of millions of people you don't know and have never met.
