I don’t think I’ve ever, in all my years in journalism, heard a male journalist warned not to be “cocky” or told to be quiet about his professional achievements.
LOL. Guys say that to each other all the time. Sometimes it's an actual warning (in the tradition of "memento mori"), sometimes it's just kidding around (especially when the achievement is a minor one). Poor guy just believed in the whole equality thing.
