I'll just point out that the fight choreography is very good and easy to follow. Werewolf boss scene is still the best one so far, But I was able to follow all of them so far.

I have a feeling that we'll learn more about Vampire psychology as the book goes on, they very much feel like they are on the rational agent side of pure evil, and there's the off chance we may encounter a sympathetic vampire later on, but i don't feel like this is that sort of book.

Feds definitely have a secret, but so does everyone else. Tattooed guy might be up for a psuedo team up if the Hunters stay out of his way and let him have the relic, but I am suspicious that the hunter code might forbid that.

Still having no trouble keeping up the pace, very easy read for me. 8 books in the series and aparently the earlier stuff is weaker. Might be worth reading further.

I would definitely say so. The first book is the weakest while still being very enjoyable, which is a pretty good place to be.

I thought Siege was the weakest personally. Best entry is probably Alpha.

Alpha was great, I think my personal favorite is Nemesis, I really like how some of the books will follow a different protagonist than Owen, it makes the world feel a lot bigger when you don’t just follow one protagonist as the center of the universe.

Nemesis has many of the same strengths as Alpha, I just liked Harbinger more as a protagonist. Not that Franks isn't also compelling, merely that in any other series Harbinger would steal the show.

Agreed on a multiple perspective universe, with the exception of avoiding perspective schizophrenia as one sees in Wheel of Time and Game of Thrones and so on. That said I just straight up hated the personality of everyone in Wheel of Time so I didn't make it too far into the series. To me Jordan seems like an over celebrated hack, the Scalzi of fantasy.

"If he says that a bitchy woman folds her arms under her breasts again I'm putting the book down.". *three pages later. "Okay that's enough of this."
