That basically is how things operate in China today: all glory to the CCP or else.
Eh, that's how things operate in the West.
Everything has to bow to their diversity cult, transgenderism and their other pieties.
If anything, it's the opposite of that in the west.
Denounce the country you live in and the people that live there, including your own family, (unless they're brown or like to have sex with the correct people).
We don't get jailed for wrong speak in the US, nor do we get shut down for getting to popular (like Jack Ma, or most of their social media people).
Not that our leaders wouldn't like to do that, I don't think they are any better, but we aren't at that level yet.
We are just a better East. There is no West anymore.
No you get clinton'd or assanged'd.
The chinese honsty about it is in many ways the kinder way, rather that letting you think you have freedoms then punishing you for it.
