Have relatives who are smart people, IQ 130+, and they sent me a published news article on DeSantis banning woke being silly because the textbook only had it on one page and it wasn't even woke.
Sent them the picture showing the opposing page, visible to anybody actually looking at the book, had a chart saying essentially that all conservatives are racist scum based off a psych test that has been shown over and over to have no predictive power at all - not even for repeating the test any number of times.
They didn't care that conservatives were being trashed unfairly, or that it was taking place in a school textbook, or that the media had lied to them. I couldn't not care about any of those.
Intelligence is not an indicator of anything besides being able to repeat facts in context. Which is what they're doing here/ Repeating "facts" told to them by an authority figure.

No I mean they actually scored that high on IQ tests, like the kind with patterns and puzzles that measure intelligence.
Point is they have all the tools they need, but they've just turned their brains off and they can't be reasoned with.
It's honestly scary because apparently NPR/NYT/WaPo can make them believe anything.
