There are huge cloud of smoke in the videos, which means it wasn't using modern powder. It could be powder from fireworks(not sure about legal availability) or, most likely, the classic matchhead powder.
Spez: The firing system appears to be electrical, which makes sense for a single use gun. Homebrewing electric matches is easier and more reliable than rigging a primer system or touch holes.
