The gap between the rights and responsibilities of women versus men with respect to children is absolutely insane. Basically all birth control short of condoms only works for women, effectively giving women complete reproductive control over both themselves and men in long term relationships, abortions only exist for women, child support might as well only exist for men, and being unable to pay it lands you in prison unless you absolutely win the lottery and get a family court judge who is even willing to consider the possibility that men don't have limitless money and job opportunities. Women are acting like limits to abortions mean they're being treated like cattle, but the fact is they still have tremendously more rights and less responsibility than men ever have or ever will.
This. And it's simple to see with the whole abortion decision.
Woman is pregnant for 9 months. Gets to choose to tell the man, not tell the man, keep the baby, not keep the baby, etc. And if she unilaterally decides to keep the baby, dude is on the hook for ~2 decades of child support payments.
If you even suggest that the guy should have the ability to do a financial abortion, though - waive all parental rights and contact with the woman and kid in exchange for not being locked into child support payments - you'll have a bunch of harpies screaming in your face faster than if you said "free cake!"
I don't know if you forgot to mention or just don't know, there have been efforts to develop male birth control that were shut down because that would give men more control over when to have a child.
And that's just Western society in general. Japanese culture has its own quirks. They went the "men can go their own way" route when it comes to child support, so a guy can just be a sperm donor if he wants, with no obligation. BUT women still have all the rights when it comes to raising that child. If the guy WANTS to be a father, the woman has to give permission. She is allowed to keep sole custody herself or raise the baby as another man's child without consent from the biological father. So I was surprised by this interpretation of the abortion law.
There had been controversy for years (when news actually covered these things instead of fake controversies) about parent "abductions" where the Japanese mother of a mixed baby would break up with the father and no longer let him see the child. Japanese law is ok with this. So occasionally the American father and his family will kidnap their baby and bring it back home with them. Japanese law is NOT ok with that, but American law is. So it was kind of an international disagreement. I'm not sure but I think US law finally cucked to the Japs and agreed to go after the men. Someone would have to confirm.
I'd have more sympathy if these whores didn't baby trap dudes for child support money.
