So pathetic. If you are going to hold the U.S. eternally accountable for slavery then hold most of the world’s countries to the same standard.
Also note how the US is never given credit for ending slavery within it's own borders.
There were quite a few countries that needed the British military to show up to achieve the same.
Yes! Thomas Sowell has a great summary of the world history of slavery and it was eye opening for me. Also, these people wouldn’t donate a dime to organizations trying to fight slavery today. Much easier to virtue signal about slavery in the 1800s.
shitlibs would support hwite slavery. they dont have great morals themselves.
The republicans back then opposed slavery for the same reason modern republicans oppose illegal immigration now: it drives down wages for the republican base.
How about modern Africa? A quick search reveals there are around 9.2 million slaves on the continent.
Yep. But of course they do t have the guts to call them out for it.
If they mention those real, live slaves today it's only to blame western nations for it.
That's without even getting into the modern, corporate slavery of exporting labor to poor nations and barely paying those people to manufacture the luxuries western people enjoy while virtue signaling. Like Nike shoes made in a sweatshop.
Are you by any chance pretending that this only concern the US and not the entire West?
Oh it is absolutely a concern. I just hate that ppl don’t see the danger in labeling things “hate speech”, tearing things down, giving a biased view of history, brainwashing kids with racist garbage, and the list goes on.
