I am Québécois. Don't ever let Jean ( John James ) Charest get his corrupt, thievy hands anywhere near political office again.
Court-packing is a Liberal tradition on both sides of the border and in Québec too.
Judges nominations under Charest's government were vetted for their Liberal Party loyalty. He personally told the Minister of Justice who to nominate, which led to Marc Bellemare leaving the Liberals.
When Franco Fava, Liberal mafia organizer, told Bellemarre who to nominate for judge next, Bellemarre asked Jean Charest WTF was happening. Jean Charest told Bellemare to do as Fava told him to.
Public contracts for infrastructure in Québec used to cost 30% more than elsewhere for no reason other than corruption. Mafia-owned companies would collude between themselves and the !iberals to apply for public contracts at higher submissions, and gave a cut back to the Liberal party.
The liberals would add obscure, nonsensical requirements to contracts to pretend they just had to take their buddies for the job, because they knew how to fit the nonsensical criteria. And if non-colluding companies managed to qualify anyway, the mafia would intimidate and run out them of town.
Liberals would then add extremely costy "extras" to the public contracts while their buddies were on the job.
When journalists found out by checking public contract records, Liberals lied and said they stopped doing that. In fact, they simply made sure the record of the "extras" would not be filed with the rest of the contract so trying to make the connection for the truckloads of "extras" filed independently would be near-impossible.
Charest spent the last decade+ building his web of influence and his buddies are salivating at cashing-in their relationship with the guy. Which he will oblige, with taxpayer's money, as he did when ruling Québec.
He's not a Conservative. He's not a Liberal ( as in, political philosophy ) he's a Crook. Nepotism to trade favors is all he does.
Je n'y connais pas grand chose à vos affaire politiques mais j'espère que vous allez vous en sortir les mecs, nous on est partis pour cinq autre bernes à manger de la merde en barquette de douze.
No leader has been officially chosen yet by the party. The leadership election is this month. Most people think Poilievre is a shoe-in, but Charest is running against him from the centre and a couple, much more interesting candidates are running from the right.
Charest would be awful, but frankly I think Poilievre is a WEF plant.
I like Poilievre, he's had a lot to say on economics and what little he's said about the Freedom Convoy I agree with.
However, the conservative party, in it's entirety, is captured (the fact that Jean Charest is even there confirms as much). They know (knew?) that there won't be an election for 3 years due to Trudeau's backroom dealings so the leadership race is just looking for a nice loud voice that will stomp all over the liberal picnic without ever being able to do anything about it.
See what happens when an actual election becomes imminent. Either he'll start towing the globalist line or be removed.
It's interesting to note that the convoy started getting police force used against it in earnest, the weekend after the old Conservative leader was ousted.
Sorry to be THAT guy, but I'm certain the actual Conservative leadership vote is in September.
The CPC announced a crazy long leadership race back in February after they ousted Erin O'Toole and during the height of the Freedom Convoy.
I thought it was a curious move at the time, as this was before the evil WEF Liberal-NDP dictatorship coalition was formally announced.
In theory at least at the time, Ottawa had a minority government that could fall anytime and an election could be immediately called.
Exposing your party to the risk of having to contest an election without a leader and a face of the party for seven months seemed really odd and foolish.
It's almost like the Conservatives weren't worried about a snap election because they knew about Trudeau's evil backroom power grab all along........🤔
Strongish words, but is still only encouraging the people to try to vote their way out of the problem. Voters are why politicians have contempt for the people.
"Conservatives" and all western nations are only good at saying words. I've never seen any in my lifetime accomplish anything of note to help our future
Shame the entire Conservatives party is corrupt from the top down and doesn't care about working class Canadians one bit. Actions speak louder the words.

The fact that Charest still has a career is a testament to the clown world in which we live.

Vive le Québec libre!
Can someone explain what this is?
I thought Poilievre was the leader of the federal conservatives. So why is he debating a local liberal PM?
EDIT: wow, that Charest creature is actually a Conservative?!?!?
Charest used to ve with the Federal ( Canada ) Conservatives.
Then he went to lead the Liberal party of Québec and became PM of Québec.
He was a crook in both positions. Nepotism, corruption, collusion as a way of life.

Nooo, he can't be; he said he wasn't...

Yep, turns out you're right. I figured it was sooner because the debates are all scheduled for this month.

Hilarious.

We need to hear more plans to go along with that fiery speech. Being able to call the bastards out is not a reason to support someone.
