I love how it frames it as something evil. How dare the consumer be upset when what they were sold was forcefully updated to be substantially different.
I like the language in the pictured tweet. “Allowing people to refund it for free,” as if the idea of them charging for it would ever be a reasonable thought.

As someone who used to play the game obsessively and impulse bought a ton of crap, "free refund" is correct.
When you start the game, you get three refund tokens. When you use them all, you get a timer counting down one year to use another.
It's free because you don't use a refund token, like you would if you were refunding something you just didn't like using.
What do you mean you ordered steak and we swapped it for a lump of shit while you were looking at your phone? No, it was always a lump of shit, the original vision of the chef was a lump of shit.
