It doesn't have the pussy pride stuff, the guy just wears a hoodie that has ( . )( . ) on it. It's a great Manga but I am not so sure as a first. Maybe give the anime a whirl too, the story is very much a parody of superhero stereotypes. Mc is basically OP af and can beat everything with one punch, thus the name. You would think it would get boring but it's hilarious and a credit to Manga as a whole. If you plan to check it out do check out the one that was redrawn. The author originally is not as good with his art but his writing is phenomenal, someone picked it up and does the art to the story and it's one of the best looking Mangas around IMHO.

Its because it deals with the topic in a way that you would never get with modern Comic writers: He has become so unbelievably powerful, his biggest concern is not being bored. On top of actually keeping to his convictions to remain a hero.
A Western Comic Pro would never even consider such an issue. After all, they have power, isnt that enough?
Gotcha. I am a lifetime comic book collector (now only older comics) but I want to get into anime. I recently saw fist of the North Star so I may get that manga or try to find Robotech comics
Let's put it this way, One Punch man is both a great manga, AND a hilarious satirization of the genre. So as a first, you'd be missing half the point when it is clearly playing a trope into the stratosphere.
Fist of the North star is such a good series. If you like that sort of stuff maybe you should check out Jojo's bizarre adventure. The title is what it will be like in the beginning, it is split into parts and the first aged somewhat OK somewhat not so much(came out in the 80s). The story gets really damn good, both the Manga and the anime is worth a look if you enjoyed fist of the North star. First two parts took the concept of FOTNS and did its own spin when in the later parts it does its own thing and that very, very well. One again though I am not so sure if it isn't too japanese for a beginner but if you enjoyed FOTNS it might just be for you, don't give up after the first volume or couple episodes.
Incidentally: the Manga is released in English as a hard cover. Really enjoy those and wish more manga came out like that.
"Not as good at art" bro ONE's art beats the shit out of the generic ass art the anime has. Its insanely talented and dynamic and expressive, it just happens to be drawn with a shaky crayon as a joke.
The real best show by him is Mob Psycho 100, some loser autistic who could completely dominate the world and everyone around him through the shortcut of his uber magic powers, but instead he's devoted to becoming physically fit and talking to girls on his own of his own ability, it's a great story about how you are how you work, shortcuts building weak men vs dedication forging a proud and strong individual from even the weakest of clay.
It is great, and the caveat is that it is great at what it does. It's a comedy series originally drawn in a really crude style, but was picked up by an incredible artist so now it's a comedy series with amazing art and action. The action panels are insane - an example of a gif made with his panels; https://c.tenor.com/pYataaiHwi4AAAAd/one-punch-man-opm.gif
All that to say, if you go into it understanding its a comedy and a play on the Superhero genre rather than being some hyper serious action/drama series it is really good imo.
I wouldn't start with that, no. I'm not really sure where to send you for your first foray into the medium. Berserk is the pinnacle of the medium, but I wouldn't say you should start there. Maybe just good old fashioned Dragon Ball?
If you want to start with something light and fun, Dragonball or Yu Yu Hakusho. If you want to start with something grim and dark, Berserk. If you want to start with something epic, Akira.
It would basically be One Punch Man with his Oppai shirt.
Is that a good Manga to start with?

He did indeed improve though. In OPM you can see its one of his earlier works. Mob Psycho I read and while the art is not perfect it does indeed fit.

That's some pussy shit.
The guy from "Tomo is a girl" just straight up walks around with a shit that says BIGOT on it and nothing else.
