Having made the mistake of buying the sims 4 during the steam summer sale and then actually booting it up, I can tell you that this is the exact type of person EA is pandering to.
There are literal sodomite(including troon) flags and stuff as items, and Kwanza(LOL) and Hanukkah paraphernalia, but not a single Cross or Crucifix.
You should have gotten 3 and/or its expansion packs. Those are well worth the money if you can stomach supporting EA. And to be clear I don't shame anyone who can stomach it. Buying stuff for 3 is a good signal to send them if they ever get management interested in what their players want.
Honestly buying 4 was a bit of redpill into how scummy EA actually is, however theyre still nowhere as bad as TPC and gamefreak, which pioneered Macro-transactions with their two version system. Also snuck gay and tranny propaganda into their games under everyone's noses in Gen 6 (Which was already absolute garbage).
