I remember back on the Escapist, before I had ANY notion that there was a civil war brewing at all, I saw a trailer for TvW. "Huh this kind of looks like shit" I thought to myself. "Reminds me of the stories of those senators who hated videogames". I thought it would go away fairly quickly, at most some brief shock jock flash in the pan.

Gamergate was a small front in a broader cultural war, one which I was much happier not being aware of.
