Yes! I frequently see people both in the left and right worry that Gen Z is being radicalized to either side, when both things are true. There are both super woke and equally anti woke kids. But if I may allow myself a white pill, is the fact that for the first time since the hippies you have kids thinking it's cool to be right wing. From the late 60's to the 00's any young political militant was pretty much necessarily a leftie. It looks like the pendulum is already swinging back.
I agree. My bf is a teacher and he has both ends of the spectrum in his class. Someone in a "Let's Go Brandon" hoodie, and then someone whose gender changes often in the same classroom. And they're not outliers - kids form groups based off of political ideologies.
It's heartening to see kids push back against the woke bullshit, but I don't think it's healthy, to be honest. They shouldn't have to worry about that shit, you know? Besides that, I'm worried that the degradation of natural discourse will even further divide these kids.
They have to worry about it because their parents did nothing to stop their society from being stolen.
Entire generations of children have lost any chance at an actual childhood because the "greatest" generation died to introduce Marxism in the name of "Democracy", boomers were indoctrinated into Marxism and spread it at home, and gen-x clapped like seals as Marxism was normalized under the guise of "edgy humor" and "tolerance".
Millennials and Gen-Z were born into a dystopia and we rail against it in our very souls.
I was going to make exactly this point: being a leftoid is becoming too mainstream, whereas being right-wing is becoming counter-culture. NOTHING appeals more to kids than doing something they shouldn't; fighting the system.
I hope it comes sooner rather than later, but I think there will come a time where being a tradcon is cool again just because the parents are ultra-progressives.
