I understand what the author is trying to say, but it's all the pearl clutching "I AM SHOCKED! HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN? THIS IS ALL NEW TO ME!" style of reporting that simply has me fatigued and not giving a shit what the rest of their letter is. I reached what I believe to be halfway through, but the letter is too long to find out simply by prose, if not by length. That's my cultured way of saying "NERD!"
