Psychologizing is a liberal cope when they run into the inconvenient truth that many people are not capable of agency and do not desire freedom. It's not a pathology. These people are not gripped by some sort of psychosis. This is simply how most people are; they want to be told what to do and there is nothing wrong with that.

Humans, at their very core are herd animals.
They go on and on about freedom and equality, but in the end most only want to be led. That is why democracy is sham system.
Most people are NPCs including many who agree with me. It gets worse the more popular a particular view is. Even if it's the correct view, people will still believe it for NPC reasons rather than well-reasoned ones.
